Settings and Navigation

To set up your Research Links, you will go to Control Panel > Research Links (found in the Settings section).

Once your links are configured, you can find them above the Additional Details section in the top right corner of the contact profile

Setting Up Research Links

In Control Panel > Research Links, click Add in the top left corner. You will then be prompted to add the following information:

  • Name - Give the research link a name that will help you know its purpose.
  • URL - Include the URL of the website. Here you will replace where the physical address will go with the shortcode {fullserviceaddress}*
  • POST Parameters - This field exists to support some sites that work by accepting the data for the search as an HTTP POST instead of an HTTP GET. If you don't know if the site you're linking to requires a POST, then you most likely don't need to use this field.

*A shortcode pulls information from the contact details page and populates that information automatically in its place. By using the shortcode {fullserviceaddress} in the URL, it tells the system to populate that contact's address as part of the link so that you are taken to the exact webpage that will give you details about their property.

FAQs

What are the POST Parameters for enabling the research link?

Some sites work by accepting the data for the search/etc as an HTTP POST. So this input is to support that. If you enter anything into that field, we do an HTTP POST instead of an HTTP GET. If you don't know if the site you're linking to requires a POST, then you probably don't need to use/worry about it!
