Overview
Services are the top level element that controls scheduling, pricing, and invoicing. To find these settings you can go to Control Panel > Services where you can edit or add a service.
Each service in serviceminder has a Scheduling Mode, which defines how appointments for that service are scheduled. Modes can rely on the client’s location, a fixed location, or subscription/recurring rules. These settings directly affect how appointments appear on your calendar.
Learn more about Ad Hoc and Queued options for your appointments on the About Scheduling help page.
Scheduling Mode
| Scheduling Mode | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Shows available slots with set times and service agents, sorted by date and drive time. Service agents must have matching skills and schedule availability. | Standard scheduling when clients are assigned specific dates/times. |
| Fixed Location | Same as Normal, but ignores drive time. Slots can be adjacent with no travel gap. | Services performed virtually or at a retail location. |
| Subscription | Schedules services that repeat on a cycle (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly). Uses Route Schedules + contact GeoZones to determine availability. Creates multiple queued appointments that must be routed manually or via serviceminder’s Routing feature. | Ongoing subscription services with defined cycles, visit counts, or seasonal rules. |
| Route Schedule | Similar to Subscription, but only for a single (or recurring) appointment. Uses Route Schedules + GeoZones to present one available date. Appointment is queued on that date. | One-time or recurring services tied to route availability. |
| Recurring | Marks a service as recurring (weekly, quarterly, annually, etc.). Learn more about creating Recurring Appointments. | Any regularly repeating service outside of Route or Subscription cycles. |
